What a legacy you have left me! Every time I look at these butterflies and in my mind see you squatted down or stretched out on the ground, camera in hand, to get a butterfly shot I will miss you so much. I love you, darling. You bring so much joy into my life. No mother could have a better daughter! And one so talented in many ways.

I've had success in attracting the Pipevine swallowtail in Western Iowa by planting Virginia snakeroot, which is a smallish non-invasive woodland native (shade-loving). It is not a plant normally offered by nurseries, but I will have plants available as rootstock this fall (2007) for those butterfly enthusiasts who wish to attract PVS to their gardens.

Very interesting use of the blog format - and very well done. Love the photos I've had the time to peruse, and the information you've given. My wife and I are hoping to make a trip back down to Texas in October to see some of the many great butterflies you have down there - I think we added a dozen new species on our last trip and we weren't even really there for them (in March on a birding trip).

I hope to keep coming back to see more soon.

-- Marty

P.S. Like the theme your using (I use a modified version of the same one).
